What is Nice Cream?
Nice cream is like ice cream, except it is made with frozen banana blended up and other add-ins. It has natural sugar, and of course, the fruit you make it with has fiber. It is refreshing on a hot day.
Nice Cream Tips
- Nice cream gets solid when freezing- taking it out to soften before scooping it is recommended.
- Since it is made with bananas, it will still increase your blood sugar levels, so eat a small amount after a meal as a treat.
- It is perfect for a kid snack and also a milk-free alternative.
I’m sharing my favorite way to make ice cream and other frozen dessert recipes.

Nice Cream Recipes
Strawberry Nice Cream
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- 1 medium banana sliced into rounds.
- Pinch of sea salt
- 2/3 cup coconut milk or nut milk
Blend ingredients in a Vitamix. Add more liquid if it’s difficult to blend. Place into a parchment-lined loaf pan to freeze and serve.
Chocolate Nice Cream
- 2 bananas sliced and frozen
- ¼ cup dark cocoa powder
- Pinch of sea salt
- ¼- cup coconut milk
Blend ingredients in a Vitamix. Add more liquid if it’s difficult to blend. Place into a parchment-lined loaf pan to freeze and serve.

Chia Pudding
- 1/2 cup frozen or fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup Coconut milk
- ¼ cup chia seeds
- 2 tsp honey or maple syrup if desired
Blend the strawberries and coconut milk. Stir in the chia seeds. Pour into containers, refrigerate for 2 hours, and your pudding is ready to eat for breakfast or as a snack.

Watermelon Slush
- 2 cups frozen watermelon
- ¼ cup lime juice
- ½ cup Coconut milk or water (the coconut milk makes it creamy)
- 1 tsp of honey
Blend in a blender, add to a glass, and pour up to 1 cup sparkling water on top and stir.
Smoothie Tips
- A great way to add Veggies and fruit to your daily intake.
- Watch that you don’t overload your smoothie with too much fruit.
- Use half-frozen fruits so the smoothie is not too thin.
- Use 2 cups of fruit and veggies to 1 cup of liquid.
- Protein- Add protein powder, nut butter, Greek yogurt, or cottage cheese as a great way to add protein. If using yogurt, add more liquid.
- Veggies-Add spinach, Kale, cucumber, or avocado as a good way to add veggies.
- Fruit– Don’t add too many- options include berries like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Pineapple and bananas will add sweetness.
- Liquids- Add milk, water, almond milk, coconut milk, or juice. (The juice can make it sweeter than needed) So the smoothie won’t get too thick.
- Fiber and Nutrition -Add chia seeds, ground flax, hemp seeds, or beet powder.
Green Smoothie
- 2 cups fresh spinach or kale
- 1 avocado
- 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 sliced frozen banana
Blend all ingredients until blended and serve. The avocado makes for a nice, smooth texture.

No-Churn Chocolate/ Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
I purchased too much Whipping cream and decided to make this to use it up, and wow! It was good. This is a once-a-year recipe I will keep making. Mainly because it is loaded with calories, fat, and sugar, but so good. Easy Peasy!
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1 can of sweet and condensed milk
- ¼ cup dark cocoa powder
- ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
Mix the condensed milk, cocoa, salt, and vanilla in a bowl. In a mixer, whip the cream until stiff peaks form, then fold it into the chocolate mixture. When combined, fold in the mini chocolate chips. Line a loaf pan with parchment and add ice cream to the pan. Freeze for 4-8 hours and serve. If you can’t wait, it will taste like soft serve or Chocolate whipping cream. This would also make a really good chocolate-crusted ice cream pie.
