Gluten-free Avocado Brownie Recipe

These brownies are so good, that I can’t quit eating them.  Now that is a problem.   Today at my table, I’m sharing my recipe for gluten-free Avocado brownies that everyone loves. These make perfect Valentine’s Day treats for your family or a gathering. Gluten-free Avocado Brownie Recipe.

These brownies still have sugar in them, so remember they are a treat and better than a brownie mix. They are scratch and you can control the ingredients.  Try reducing the sugar or using a different type.  I don’t make these too often, so an occasional treat is ok.

I brought them to our small group and the kids said, “Mom these are so good.” “They have avocado in them?”   Fudgy and full of chocolate goodness is my description of them.

Here is the recipe you will enjoy.  They are perfect if you have an avocado that you deseeded and placed in a ziplock and froze and now you want to use it in your brownies.  You can use any nut butter you desire.  I have only used sun butter since I have peanut butter and almond butter allergies.

Gluten-Free Avocado Brownie Recipe

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup special dark cocoa (if you use regular cocoa it is fine) Special dark is my favorite cocoa.
  • ¼ cup sun butter or any nut butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips -optional

Preheat oven to 325 degrees and spray a 9×7 glass baking pan or line with parchment. If you use a square pan your bake time will be more. If you use a metal pan your bake time may be more.

In a food processor or ninja blend all the ingredients with pulses until smooth. Fold in the chocolate chips and scrape into the baking pan.

Bake for 30 minutes until the center comes out clean or cooked through.  Will be fudgy.  Cool completely and sprinkle with powdered sugar.   They will be very fudgy.  The best part is they will be gone before you know it.

When cool sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

Enjoy this brownie recipe with some added nutrition and better than a boxed brownie.
